Dave and Lightning Host the organization Operation Helping Hands at the February 4th Lightning game. Operation Helping Hands is a wonderful organization that assist wounded and injured veterans and their families.
The Dave Andreychuk Foundation would like to thank Operation Helping Hands for all they do for veterans! Keep up the great work! Dave Andreychuk presents a check for $5,000.00 from the Dave Andreychuk Foundation to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. The Tampa Bay Lightning hosted Dave Andreychuk Night and the proceeds from the event were earmarked to benefit Moffitt. Accepting the check for Moffitt is Deputy Director, W. Jack Pledger, Ph.D. The Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena and Skating Center in Hamilton, was a fun filled day at the arena! The event included food, prizes and hockey related activities both on and off the ice. Friends and fans had the opportunity to meet their Hamilton born hero! Proceeds from the event will benefited The Hamilton Minor Hockey Association and The Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation. October 2009, several young hockey players from the Hamilton Minor Hockey Association were on hand to help draw winning tickets for prizes donated by the Dave Andreychuk Foundation.
Money raised by this event supported specific Hamilton Minor Hockey Association Houseleague players who may not otherwise have the resources to participate in this hockey program. The chance drawing was held at The Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena, Hamilton, ON. The Tampa Bay Lightning hosted Dave Andreychuk Foundation night on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Fans could purchase tickets to see the Lightning take on the one of Dave’s former teams, the Buffalo Sabres and donate to his foundation. Several other fundraising events were being held that night at the St. Pete Times Forum that added to the overall success of the evening. Fans in the Brickwall Club could participate in chance drawings to win Dave Andreychuk autographed memorabilia. Dave’s wife Sue and several of her friends were on hand to sell the tickets. The Lightning Foundation designated silent auction proceeds for the evening to the Dave Andreychuk Foundation, Dave also donated several items from his personal collection to the auction. High bidders from the auction were also offered the opportunity to meet Dave after the game. All proceed from the event will benefit the Moffitt Cancer Center. A big thank you to all who supported the event! As honorary chairman of the Motorcycles for Moffitt Poker Run, Dave lead the bikers from the Harley Davidson of New Port Richey to the Harley Davidson of Brandon. It was a chilly morning but many bikers braved the cold to raise money for research at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Dave is pictured on his Harley with dedicated bikers and hockey fans! Dave was recently invited to be the guest speaker at the Brink’s US Southeast Region meeting to address their branch managers. The Yerrid Foundation and the Tampa Bay Lightning hosted over 4,000 cancer patients, survivors and caretakers to watch the Lightning take on the Ottawa Senators. Dave Andreychuk was one of the many Lightning celebrities to stop by and say hello to some of the special guests in attendance that night.
Dave dropped the puck and signed autographs at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena. The provincial Jr. "A" plays its home games at the Arena and Dave signed autographs between periods. |
